Graduating with a BA LLB from University Law College, Bangalore University, Ms. Sumana joined Justlaw as Partner in the year 2008. Prior to that she started her career in the firm Sundaraswamy Ramdas and Anand. She has also clerked with a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court of India. She does a wide spectrum of advisory work and also a host of litigation in the realm of infrastructure and power and appears in adjudicatory proceedings before the Electricity Regulatory authorities, both original and appellate and represents various power utilities before a variety of fora including the High Court of Karnataka and the Supreme Court of India. She has an extensive practice in the field of electricity law and has represented transmission utilities, distribution utilities and power traders in a variety of litigation. She also has vast experience handling Constitutional litigation pertaining to the sector.
